Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill (3999 Pte. J. Wilson, Cam’n. Hdrs.) suspension refitted, edge bruising, contact marks, nearly very fine £60-80

John Wilson was born in Glasgow. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Gordon Highlanders, he attested for the Cameron Highlanders in Inverness in May 1897, aged 18 years, 9 months. With the regiment he served in Gibraltar, September-October 1897 and in Egypt and Sudan, October 1897-March 1900 - being present at the battle of Khartoum. He then served in South Africa, March-December 1900. With some copied service papers and copied roll extract which confirms clasps and states ‘Invalided to England’.
