Waterloo 1815 (Joseph Cay, 3rd Batt. 14th Reg. Foot) with replacement silver suspension, inscribed, ‘18th June 1815’, edge bruising, contact marks, nearly very fine £1400-1600

Joseph Coy (’Cay’ on medal) was born c.1784 at East Haddon, Northamptonshire. A Tailor by occupation, he attested for the 14th Foot at Daventry, 1 July 1813. Served in Captain Richard Adam’s Company, 3rd Battalion 14th Regiment in the Waterloo campaign. Died May 1825 and buried at St. George’s Church, Hanover Square, London. With copied research.
