Robert John Rooke was born in London, 1918. After naval service in the Second World War, he joined the Surrey Fire Brigade in 1949; Hertfordshire in 1957; Oxfordshire in 1964; the Isle of Wight, as Chief Fire Officer in 1965 and the Dudley Fire Brigade, as Chief Fire Officer in 1968. An Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (AMIFireE). With copied details of service with photograph.
