Ex D.N.W. 27 June 2007 - when sold as a B.W.M./L.S. & G.C. pair.

Harry Robini of the Ngoni Tribe, Nyassaland, enlisted into the K.A.R. on 10 July 1918, aged 26 years. He was discharged with the reduction of the establishment on 21 February 1919. He served a further period during 1921-24 and re-enlisted for the third time on 21 April 1926, attaining the rank of Sergeant in 1940. During the Second World War he served in Somaliland and Abyssinia. He was discharged on 31 October 1945. Soon after his charge he was later awarded the K.A.R. L.S. & G.C. Medal (Nyasaland Government Gazette 26 February 1945) - this despite a less than blameless service record involving being absent without leave, drunkenness and adultery. An offence at Zomba on 8 February 1929 involved adultery, assault and stating a falsehood to a Warrant Officer which resulted in 10 lashes, 28 days and the payment of £1.0.0. to a fellow soldier (the outraged husband?). Sold with a quantity of copied service sheets.
