Private A. Southwell, 8th Battalion Canadian Infantry, was born in 1896 and was wounded in the right thigh during 1916 and was subsequently discharged. He joined the R.A.P.C. on 24 August 1939 but was discharged on 9 April 1940 being physically unfit.

With original discharge certificate from the Royal Army Pay Corps and a named slip to accompany the Defence Medal.
