Three: Lance-Corporal A. D. Taylor, Worcestershire Regiment, who died on 15 February 1918

Alfred David Taylor was born in Birmingham. A Shoemaker by occupation and a member of the 5th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment (Militia), he attested for short service in the Worcestershire Regiment at Birmingham on 26 February 1907, aged 18 years, 4 months and was transferred to the Army Reserve in May 1912. Mobilised in August 1914, he was posted to the 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment and entered France on 12 August 1914. He remained in France until 6 February 1918, when he was invalided home suffering from pneumonia. He died in England on 15 February 1918 and was buried in the Witton Cemetery, Birmingham. He was the husband of Elizabeth Taylor.

With original attestation form (duplicate); medical history sheet; list of transfer document; provisional certificate in shoemaking 1912, from the Royal Army Clothing Factory; Gospel of St. John booklet; in memoriam card; City of Birmingham card expressing sympathy at his loss. Some papers damaged and repaired.
