Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Delhi (Asst. Apothy. W. H. Must, 6th Dgn. Gds.); India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Bhootan (Apothy. W. H. Must. Subt. Medl. Dept.) marks to the Queen’s cheek on the first, otherwise nearly extremely fine (2) £800-1000

William Henry Must was born at Fort William, Calcutta, on 15 February 1830, son of Henry Must, Magazine Sergeant. He was appointed Assistant Apothecary, Bengal Subordinate Medical Department, on 17 August 1852. He served with the 6th Dragoon Guards during the Indian mutiny, being present at the engagement of the Hindon River on the 30th and 31st May 1857; present throughout the siege and capture of Delhi from the 8th of June to the 1st of October, 1857, and in the subsequent campaign in the Delhi and Meerut Districts; present at the capture of Bareilly on the 5th of May 1858 (Medal with clasp). Appointed Apothecary on 27 August 1861, he subsequently took part in the Bhootan campaign of 1864-66 (Medal with clasp). He was pensioned on 26 February 1879 and granted the local and honorary rank of Surgeon in the East Indies on 19 May 1880. He died at Allahabad on 31 October 1893.
