Iy.); India General Service 1854-94, 1 clasp, Umbeyla (3581, A. Holmes. H.Ms. 71st Regt.); Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue (No. 3581 Andrew Holmes 71 Hd. Lt. Infy.) fitted with Crimea suspension, light contact marks, otherwise very fine (4) £480-520

Andrew Holmes was born in the Parish of Barony, Glasgow, and attested for the 71st Regiment at Glasgow on 23 February 1853, aged 18 years, a Baker by trade. He served as a private throughout his 21 years service and was discharged on 9 June 1874, after completing his second period of limited engagement. Sold with copied discharge papers.
