Three: Gunner & Driver W. Toole, Royal Artillery

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol, unnamed; Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (Gr. & Dr., 12th Bn. R. Arty.) suspension crudely refitted; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, naming erased, plugged and fitted with a swivel ring suspension, edge bruising, contact marks, fine and better (3) £260-300

William Toole was born in Co. Wicklow. He attested for the Royal Artillery at Wicklow on 18 April 1854, aged 18 years, six months. With the R.A. he served in the Crimea for 1 year two months; the East Indies for 8 years and in Canada for 3 years, nine months. He was discharged on 22 May 1875 having completed his period of service. With copied service papers. Clasps confirmed. With R.A. cap badge added for display purposes.
