Christopher Lindert was born at Gelliehausen/Geirhausen, Prussia. He is first traced on the muster rolls for the 2nd Light Dragoons on 25 October 1805, as a private/trooper. He served in the campaign of 1807 in Sweden and Denmark, including the siege of Copenhagen. He served in the Peninsula from 1810, initially with the 2nd Hussars (formerly Dragoons), with whom he was present at the battle of Barrosa but did not claim the clasp, and transferred to the 1st Hussars K.G.L. by order of the Marquis of Wellington on 25 April 1813. He took part in the campaigns of 1813 and 1814 in Spain and France, and in Flanders in 1815 including the battle of Waterloo. He served until 24 February 1816 when the regiment was disbanded at Hannover. Sold with full research.
