Cheshire Militia, an extremely fine officer’s ‘bell-top’ 1829-1844 pattern shako plate, the large crowned star pattern back plate overlaid with a facetted silver star upon this a circular gilt Garter motto enclosing the red cross of St George on a domed silver ground, at the base of the star a gilt Roman fasces inscribed ‘Cheshire’, the back plate and gilt overlays retain 100% original fire gilt, two star rays fractured adjoining the crown and a hair line crack at the base of the crown (araldite additions), one arm of the central cross lacking all enamel £400-500
