New Zealand 1845-1866, reverse dated 1864-1866 (Lieut. J. A. G. F. Seewell (sic), 4th Battn. Mility. Trn.) replacement cast suspension bar, edge nicks and minor contact wear, very fine £200-250

John Augustus George Frederick Sewell, also a veteran of the Sebastopol operations in the Crimea and of the expedition to North China in 1860, served variously in the Waikato and Taranaki districts in New Zealand between 1864-66. He was advanced to Captain in April 1870 and to Major in November 1879.
