Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (No. 1878 William Wakeham, R.B.) depot impressed naming, the first clasp a contemporary tailor’s copy, contact marks and edge bruising, therefore good fine £240-280

William Wakeham was born in the Parish of Amberley, near Arundel, Sussex, and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Godalming, Surrey, on 1 February 1841, aged 18 years one month. He served in the Ionian Islands for 1 year 8 months, in the Cape of Good Hope for 5 years 4 months, and in the Crimea for 1 year 10 months. He was discharged after 21 years service at Winchester on 7 February 1862, and was then in possession of the medal for long service. Sold with copy discharge papers and copy medal rolls which confirm all clasps.
