Punjab 1848-49, 2 clasps, Chilianwala, Goojerat (T. Campbell, 24th Foot) very fine £300-350

Thomas Campbell was born at Woolwich, Kent, and attested for the 24th Foot at Dublin on 16 May 1834, aged 14 years 6 months. He served in Canada for 7 years and 1 month, and in the East Indies for 11 years and six months, during which period he ‘served with the Army of the Punjaub in 1848-49 and was present in action at Sadoolapore, 3rd December 1848, Chillianwalah, 13th Jany., and Goojerat, 21st Febry. 1849 - Recd a Medal & 2 clasps for services in the Punjaub in 1848-49 on the 3rd August 1852.’ He was discharged due to ill health and long service at Rawal Pindi on 30 November 1857, as a Corporal, having received his L.S. & G.C. medal and £5 gratuity on 23 July 1857. Sold with copy discharge papers.
