Military Cross, G.V.R., the reverse inscribed ‘Lieut., R.F.A., Passchendaele, Oct. 1917’; 1914 Star, with clasp (1124 Pte., 1/28 Lond. R.); British War and Victory Medals (Lieut.); Defence Medal, very fine (5) £500-600

M.C. London Gazette 23 April 1918: ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in continuing to assist in laying out new lines to the batteries after having been himself half buried by a shell. During many days operations it was entirely due to his fine example that communications from brigade headquarters to the batteries were kept intact.’
