India General Service 1895-1902, 2 clasps, Relief of Chitral 1895, Punjab Frontier 1897-98 (1818 Pte. J. Brown, 3d Bn. Rif. Bde.) official corrections, otherwise nearly very fine and rare £120-150

James Brown enlisted into the Rifle Brigade at his home city of Winchester on 10 November 1891, and was discharged at his own request on 29 November 1911. He served in India from December 1893 to November 1904, and then in Aden until January 1906. His discharge papers confirm medal and both clasps but give no indication as to whom he was detached in the relief of Chitral.
