Military General Service 1793-1814, 5 clasps, Corunna, Busaco, Fuentes D’Onor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz (W. Parkinson, 95th Foot, Rifles) fitted with silver ribbon buckle, edge bruising and nicks, otherwise nearly very fine £900-1100

William Parkinson was born in the Parish of Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, and enlisted into the 95th Foot on 22 April 1805, aged 19 years. He was transferred to the 5th Royal Veteran Battalion on 4 April 1814 and discharged on 12 July 1816, in consequence of the Regiment being disbanded and ‘being wounded in the left thigh.’ It is not recorded where he received his wound but it is most likely to have been at Badajoz. Sold with copy discharge papers.
