Pair: Lance Corporal R. Duncan, Royal Engineers, and No. 9 Commando, killed in action during the legendary St Nazaire Raid, for which action some five Victoria Crosses were awarded

1939-45 Star; War Medal; together with named condolence slip and card box of issue addressed to his father in Aberdeen, the box and slip additionally annotated ‘Ronnie’s medals’, extremely fine and a rare casualty £300-400

Lance Corporal Ronald Duncan was killed in action on 28 March 1942 during the Commando raid on St Nazaire. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial, Surrey. No less than five Victoria Crosses were awarded for this action.
