Three: Staff Sergeant J. P. Lovett, South African Squadron Royal Flying Corps, late 12th South African Infantry

John Patrick Lovett served with the 12th Infantry (Pretoria Regiment) in German S.W. Africa from 1.11.1914 to 19.8.1915, attaining the rank of Colour Sergeant on 9.11.1914. After being discharged he re-enlisted with the 5th South African Infantry in December 1915, being discharged in February 1916 he joined the Veteran Reserve to be discharged in January 1917. Lovett then joined the South African Squadron Royal Flying Corps on 21.1.1917 as an Acting Sergeant, serving in Dar-es-Salam between 3.4.1917 and 8.2.1918. He was finally discharged at Wynberg, South Africa on 22.4.1918. Sold with copied service papers.
