Kent R.), together with the following shooting awards: Rhine Forces Skill at Arms Medallion (2), silver and bronze, both named; Northern Ireland District Rifle Meeting 1924 (2), silver, gold and enamel, both named; A.R.A. bronze medal 1922, Highest Score, named; A.R.A. bronze medal (4), watch fob size, all unnamed; 2nd Bn. R.W. Kent, silver medal (2), bronze medal (1), all watch fob size and unnamed, also with a presentation Half Hunter gold watch, inside backplate inscribed, ‘Presented to C.S.M. E. G. Edgar Charles Grenville Taplen served with the 2nd Bn. Royal West Kent Regiment in Mesopotamia from February 1915. He was awarded the Long Service medal in 1929 and retired as Warrant Officer Class 2 in April 1931. The lot is sold with good research on his shooting career.
