1914 Star, with clasp (8518 L. Cpl., 2/R. Suss. R.); British War and Victory Medals (L.8518 Pte., R. Suss. R.); together with memorial plaque (Charles Henry Pankhurst) and a Royal Sussex Regiment Medal, silver, rev. inscribed, ‘1911 Marathon Race Winners, C. Company, L/Cpl. Pankhurst’, nearly extremely fine (5) £150-200

Lance Corporal Charles Henry Pankhurst, born in Christchurch, Sussex and enlisted at Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Serving with the 2nd battalion Royal Sussex Regiment, he was killed in action, France / Flanders, 10.9.1914. He was buried at Montreuil-aux-Lions British Cemetery in France. Sold with several photographs of the recipient and a postcard from the recipient to his mother.
