Warrant Officer Robert Burton was born in the Parish of Broughton Askeep, near Ashford, Kent and enlisted into the Royal Artillery in 1888. He was promoted Sergeant in 1896 and served in the China campaign of 1900. Promoted Sergeant Major in 1901, he was discharged in January 1901 but re-enlisted in August the same year. He was finally discharged in 1919. Sold with a quantity of copied service papers and some family photographs.
