The Border Regiment, an officer’s 1878 Home Service blue cloth helmet, very fine helmet plate QVC 1884-1901 pattern (Centre as per KK247), gilt back plate with gilt silver and two enamel overlays, helmet complete with spike chin chain (leather backing) metal trims, remains of trade label reads ‘Moffatt 1/Border’, externally very fine condition but lacks sweat band and silk liner, plate not original to the helmet, plate near excellent minor chip to white enamel section £300-350
