32nd Cornwall Regiment, a portrait miniature on ivory of a uniformed infantry Field Officer, wearing a double breasted scarlet coatee with sand buff/white collar, black stock and gold laced epaulettes, he sports a period ‘Indian topknot’ hairstyle, inscribed on the reverse ‘Colonel Bennet/32nd Regt’, oval outline contained in contemporary gilt and ebonised rectangular frame, a small paint chip and some colour loss to the perimeter otherwise good condition £100-150

John Bennet, 32nd Regiment, Lieut 7/11/1793 Captain 2/9/1795, Major 12/6/1806 Lieut-Colonel in the Army 4/6/1813 Half Pay 11/1/1815. It is likely that he served as Major in the 2nd Battalion 1804-1814.
