Augustus Roy Denyer was born in Islington, London in June 1929 and served as a Sapper, R.E. between 1947-49, prior to enlisting in the Royal Air Force in March 1953. He subsequently served in the R.A.F. Regiment between 1953-60, and in the R.A.F. Police between 1960-84, being awarded his G.S.M. for Cyprus in November 1958, and the G.S.M. for Radfan and South Arabia in the1960s. His L.S. & G.C. Medal was awarded in 1969, a Bar to it in 1984, and his M.S.M. in 1978; see Ian McInnes’
