John Stubbs, a servant by trade, enlisted into the 3rd Hussars at Dublin on 16 April 1894. He transferred to the 5th Lancers in December 1902, with which regiment he served until his discharge in April 1916. Sold with nine pages of copied service papers, which show that he suffered an accidental wound to his left arm on 26 October 1894 whilst on duty.
