The Most Honourable Order of The Bath, C.B. (Civil) neck badge converted from a breast badge, silver-gilt, hallmarks for London, 1915, in Garrard, London case of issue, nearly extremely fine £200-250

Sold with an impressive leather bound presentation folder, 39 x 32cm., bearing the initials ‘J.A.E.D.’ of the recipient in gilt lettering. Presented on the occasion of his retirement; the interior of the folder on one side bears an illuminated card document, bearing the recipient’s name, ‘J. A. E. Dickinson, C.B., I.S.O.’, illustrating the Order of the Bath, and a testimony of appreciation to the recipient from his colleagues. On the other side, a matching document, illustrating the Imperial Service Order, bears the signatures of his various colleagues, slight wear

John Alfred Ernst Dickinson was born in 1859 and entered the Civil Service, in the Office of the Local Government Board in 1875. Awarded the I,S.O. in 1911 and the C.B. in 1919, he retired from the Civil Service at the Ministry of Health in 1920. He died in 1933.
