Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State (3107 Pte. J. F. Cockaday, 6/Drgns.) nearly extremely fine £80-100

J. F. Cockaday died at Modderfontein on 16 September 1901 whilst serving as a Sergeant with the South African Constabulary. The cause of death was given as ‘concussion of the brain.’ Sold with copy of medal roll which confirms that recipient transferred from the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons to the South African Constabulary.
