Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (754 L. Cpl. J. Kneale, 1st City Vols.), in damaged card box of issue, extremely fine £60-80

Unit on card box given as ‘1/City Grahamstown Vols.’ Sold with an inscribed leaf, ‘Wishing you a happy Xmas from the front, Bloemfontein, from Jack to Janmi’, together with two photographs, one of the recipient ? and one of members of the 3rd Section, ‘C’ Company 1st City Volunteers. A Trooper J. Kneale, Nesbitt’s Horse, is shown as killed in action at Dasplaats on 13 May 1901.
