China 1857-60, 1 clasp, Taku Forts 1860 (Nathiel Malone, 44th Regt.), officially impressed naming, edge bruising and some contact marks, very fine £100-120

Nathaniel Malone, born in the Parish of Ennis in County Clare, enlisted into the Army in 1857, aged 18 years six months. He was discharged in 1879 after serving with the 44th Regiment in China and the 33rd Regiment in Abyssinia. His papers indicate that his conduct was ‘good’ and that he was in possession of three good conduct badges but it also states he was in the Regimental Defaulters Book twenty-six times and was three times tried by Court Martial. Sold with copied service papers.
