Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Zebra 17 March 1794, erased naming, very fine £150-200
Only two Zebra 17 March 1794 clasps were officially issued for the action in which H.M.S. Zebra broke the boom across the harbour and her crew stormed and captured Fort Royal on the island of Martinique. Accompanying the Zebra were ship’s boats drawn from the remainder of the fleet who able to capture the French frigate, the Bienvenue. Surviving members of these boat crews were able to claim the Boat Service clasp for the 17 March 1794 - 29 did so.
