William Baldwin Dixon was born and lived in Burnley, Lancashire. He died whilst a prisoner of war in Germany on 11 July 1918, having served with the 17th Battalion, Manchester Regiment. He is buried at Berlin South-Western Cemetery, Berlin, Brandenburg, Germany.
