Extract from 75th annual report for year ended 1st July 1914: ‘Silver Medal and Certificate of Thanks each to August Hammer, S.S. Ceramic, Michael McManus, stageman, and George G. Gould, for rescuing an inebriated woman who attempted suicide in the River Mersey at Egremont Ferry, Wallasey, on 13th July 1913.’
