Frederick George Ralph was born at Headcom, Kent, on 18 March 1880, and served 7 years in the Royal Navy until 15 November 1907. He joined the Metropolitan Police on 5 November 1907 and was posted to “J” Division. Recalled for war service in August 1914, he was killed in action on 24 October 1914, when the cruiser H.M.S. Hawke was sunk by a German submarine in the North Sea.
