Peter Bishop was born at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on 21 November 1880. He enlisted into the Grenadier Guards in 1898 and served with the 3rd Battalion during the Boer War. He was discharged on 2 August 1905 and remained on the Reserve until August 1910. Bishop joined the Metropolitan Police on 30 October 1905, posted to “G” Division, transferred to “N” Division in April 1914, and retired on pension on 3 November 1930.
