Crimea 1854-55, 3 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Sebastopol (Serjt. A. Rennie, 93rd Regt.) officially impressed naming, fitted with ribbon buckle, edge bruise, otherwise good very fine

Ex Matthew E. Taylor Collection who acquired this medal in 1964 together with a watercolour portrait of the recipient in uniform. The medal is now sold with a black and white photograph and a colour postcard of this portrait.

Andrew Rennie enlisted at Perth in January 1844; joined the 93rd Regiment in Canada, January 1846; Corporal, June 1847; Sergeant, July 1850; Colour Sergeant, June 1854; Sergeant Major, March 1855; died in camp before Sebastopol, 25 August, 1855. Andrew Rennie is confirmed on the medal roll as a member of the ‘Thin Red Line’ at Balaklava.
