Waterloo 1815 (John Gudson, Gunner, Royal Horse Artillery) fitted with original steel clip and ring suspension, edge bruising and contact marks, therefore nearly very fine

Gunner John Gudson served in Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Hew Ross’s “A” Troop at Waterloo (the historical “Chestnut Troop”) which was posted on the height of La Haye Sainte, having to retire and advance as the position came into the hands of friend or enemy. It was later reinforced by Major Beane’s Troop, and both Troops were hotly engaged and suffered severely. Sir Hew Ross later became the first artilleryman to be made a Field-Marshal.
