British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. Oakleaf (Lieut.), nearly extremely fine (2) £25-35

Lieutenant William Hamilton Smithett was born in 1898. He was commissioned into the Indian Army in July 1916 and during the War he served in the 1/28 Punjabis, attached to the 72nd Punjabis. For his services he was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette, 22.1.1919).
