Major Robert Gordon Nairne was born in 1884. He was commissioned into the Royal Scots Fusiliers in 1906 and transferred to the Indian Army in 1908.

2nd Lieutenant William Graham Nairne, 3rd battalion South Lancashire Regiment, died of wounds, France / Flanders, 11.7.1915, aged 29 years and was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetry, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
