William Chivers was born at Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, and enlisted at Bath on 10 December 1891. He served in South Africa with the 2nd Wiltshire Regiment and was discharged on termination of his first period of engagement in December 1903. He re-enlisted in August 1914 and served in France with the 3rd Wiltshire Regiment from July 1915 to November 1917. Sold with copy service record.
