Edgar Edward Hull was born at Titchfield, Hampshire, on 26 September 1867, and joined the Royal Navy as Armourer’s Crew on 29 October 1889. He served aboard Fox from April 1896 until July 1899, during which period he was landed with the Naval Brigade during the operations in Sierra Leone in the so-called ‘Hut Tax’ war. He received his L.S. & G.C. medal in November 1904 whilst serving as Chief Armourer aboard Irresistible. Sold with copy service record.
