Corporal W. Lee was a regular Army signaller from the York and Lancaster Regiment based at Agra, who was attached to Lumsden’s Horse. The regimental history indicates he was transferred to Hamilton’s Division for the period May - November 1900, accounting for the unusual, if not unique, combination of clasps to the unit.
