Cornelius Cronin was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in August 1868.

He was born in Kerry, Ireland in June 1826 and joined the Royal Navy aboard H.M.S.
Victory in March 1847. Rated as a Stoker for the duration of his career, he latterly served in the Himalaya and the Asia, and was discharged ashore from the latter ship in July 1868.
