50th (or the Queen’s Own) Regiment, an extremely fine officer’s shoulder belt plate c1850-1855 (Parkyn 402), the rectangular stippled copper gilt back plate with burnished gilt edge bears a diamond cut star and is further overlaid with a crowned strap ‘queen’s own’, centrally on a domed silver backing the numerals ‘50’, at the base lying across the star the Sphinx with Egypt, near mint condition £500-600
