A Field-Marshal’s Mess Jacket, of scarlet cloth with blue roll collar and pointed cuffs, the shoulder boards of blue cloth edged on three sides with oak-leaf gold braid finial buttons in gilt with KC over laurels and crossed batons mounts, on the strap a bullion and velvet QEC over gold and crimson crossed batons these resting on silver bullion laurel sprays, four applied silver ADC’s Royal cyphers crowned ‘GR’ ‘ER’ ‘GVIR’ ‘EIIR’, tailored by ‘Davies & Son 19 & 20 Hanover St. London W’ the label also bearing the Royal Appointment insignia; in the breast pocket a gentleman’s large cotton handkerchief with embossed Royal Duke’s coronet over ‘H’, near mint condition (2) £150-200
