Royal Irish Constabulary, a fine and scarce officer’s dress sword c1911-1922 the unfullered blade etched with the crowned GVR cypher foliate scrolls etc. on one side and the crowned title strap ‘royal irish constabulary’ enclosing the Harp and shamrock sprays on the other, the pierced and plated handguard incorporates the crowned ‘feathered’ Harp emblem, complete with blackened leather sword knot and plated metal scabbard, retailed by ‘T.G.Phillips 4 Dame St Dublin’., blade retains near 100% original polish with very minor surface discolouration in two small areas, external plating to hand-guard 90%, surface rusting to the inner area and on the backstrap, scabbard with two minor dents and extensive but light surface rust £450-550
