South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1877-8-9 (847 Cr. Sergt. W. Taylor, 2/24th Foot) very fine £450-500

William Taylor was promoted to Colour Sergeant on 23 October 1878. He lost his kit at Isandhlwana, he himself having left with Lord Chelmsford’s Force before the fatal Zulu attack. He was discharged sometime in 1880 and also received the L.S. & G.C. medal in December of that year.
