Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Vimiera, Barrosa (G. Barks, Serjeant, 9th Foot), signs of brooch mounting to reverse, suspension refixed, edge bruising, scratches and contact marks, good fine £350-400

Sergeant George Barks was born near Derby and attested to the 9th Regiment of Foot in 1806, aged 17 years. He served 10 months in the Peninsula and was badly wounded in the right thigh and left ankle at Barrosa. His other service included three years three months in France and one year in America. He was discharged at his own request in 1830. Sold with copied service papers.
