Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Algiers (Robert Fulton) very fine

Robert Fulton served aboard Hussar at the capture of Java in 1811; Master of Glasgow and severely wounded at the battle of Algiers. Commanded the Jupiter troop ship at the taking of Chinghae and Chusan, 1841. In addition to medals for Algiers and China, he received the silver medal of the Royal National Institution for saving the lives of five men in 1835. He was placed on the retired list with the rank of Commander on 9 September 1851, and received a pension of £191 12s 6d per annum.
