John Charles Pockett was born at Cheltenham and enlisted in Birmingham. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 30 July 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He is buried in Serre Road Cemetery, Somme, France.
